Diversity Strategy

To support and deliver our aim to be a world-class provider of land registration services we need a motivated and committed workforce that is part of, and not apart from, the society we serve. We must acknowledge, understand and appreciate the differences amongst us and develop a working environment that embraces and values these differences.

Diversity for us is not an option: it is integral to our business as it helps to achieve fairness at work and enhances our service to the public.
We want everyone to feel valued for who they are and what they bring to their work.

This includes having a responsibility to treat customers and colleagues with dignity and respect, and to value the things that make each of us unique. We must all work together to create an environment where everyone is treated equally and fairly.

All of us, particularly managers, are expected to take positive steps to support our commitment by challenging all forms of prejudice and discrimination and by being positive role models.
This strategy sets out what Land Registry wants to achieve in relation to diversity in employment. We recognise that this is not something we can achieve overnight and that there will be some real challenges ahead as the future shape and work of Land Registry changes. Nonetheless, throughout those changes we will carefully consider the impact on diversity and maintain our commitment to valuing inclusion.

This strategy focuses on four key themes:

We will build on the progress we have already made via the 10 Point Plan and our Single Equality Scheme. Our aim will be to embed equality & diversity into every aspect of our business in order to create an inclusive culture across Land Registry that is confident in its own diversity. Progress towards our strategy will be measured under our Diversity Delivery Plan.
