Student Loans Company gets behind Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Thursday, May 19th is the fifth Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GADD) and like thousands of organisations across the world, the Student Loans Company (SLC) is getting behind the initiative.

19 May 2016

The company’s Digital Champions will descend on three sites across the UK to get their staff thinking, talking, learning and understanding the digital (online, software, email etc) accessibility challenges faced by students with disabilities.

Lesley Raybould, Online Services Manager at SLC said:

“We want our staff to see that accessibility isn’t just the responsibility of web-developers or designers, we all have a role to play. Even small adjustments to the way we work can make a huge difference. We want our people to think how we can improve accessibility across the board for our customers, from the size of fonts we use when emailing to the layout of our websites.”

Jennison Ascuncion, Co-Founder, Global Accessibility Awareness Day said:

"We are thrilled that the Student Loans Company is recognising the 5th Global Accessibility Awareness Day."
