First for SLC Darlington employees as they take part in Northern Pride

For the first time the Student Loans Company (SLC) will be taking part in Northern Pride which takes place in Newcastle this weekend

Customer Advisor, Tracey Campbell, is part of SLC's LGBT+ Steering Group and has helped to organise SLC's participation in the event. She is one of over 20 employees from our Darlington site who will take part in tomorrow's parade. 　

Tracey said: “We are very proud to be part of Northern Pride and are looking forward to marching under SLC’s colourful rainbow banner. It’s great that the Company is so supportive of our involvement in events like this which really help to promote equality and diversity.”　

Tomorrow’s event follows Glasgow Pride – Scotland's largest celebration of LGBT+ equality – on 14 July, where more than 40 SLC colleagues and friends took part. It starts at at 12 Noon at Newcastle Civic Centre and continues to the city’s Nun’s Moor. 　

Tickets are on sale at www.northern-pride.com for access to the Pride Festival in Nuns Moor Park at the end of the parade, with entertainment and refreshments for all.
