Student Finance Wales (SFW) is urging all students in Wales to apply for funding as soon as possible, with applications for the 2015/16 academic year now open.

In January 2015, the responsibility for processing all student finance applications in Wales was transferred to the Student Loans Company. For the first time, applications for all Welsh student funding will be processed by the 110 strong Student Finance Wales team, based at Llandudno Junction.

There is a range of finance available to help with university costs and these include tuition fee loans and grants. Maintenance loans and grants are also available to help with living costs whilst studying.

Ian Halliwell, Operations Manager at Student Finance Wales said: “Whether you are starting university for the first time this autumn or continuing on your course, it’s best to apply as early as possible to get everything in place and start budgeting.

“It’s important to apply now to ensure your funding is in place at the start of the university term and to send Student Finance Wales any requested information as quickly as possible.

“The quickest way to apply is online at: www.studentfinancewales.co.uk
