We want your feedback on Gateway to Research

In the last few months the Gateway to Research (GtR) website has seen some important developments to improve the search function and the information that is provided. Now we are seeking insight from the people that use the website to make more changes.

We welcome your feedback on the GtR website, in particular examples of how you have used the data.  Please help us identify additional improvements that would make GtR meet your needs even further by completing this short survey. 

The user survey will be open for two months after which the GtR team will review your feedback and decide what improvement suggestions will be included in future development exercises. Please note that you have only two months to complete the survey with a deadline of Wednesday 31st May 2017.

In February this year we introduced improvements to the search capability which allowed users to refine their search by selecting more than one option under any category.  In addition, over the past year the following key improvements have been made:

  • ORCID - Open Researcher and Contributor ID.  (A 16 digit, digital number that identifies a researcher)
  • Users who have linked their existing Je-S accounts to their ORCID accounts now have their ORCID iD published on GtR.
  • Research outcomes
  • Research Councils UK (RCUK) have a responsibility to demonstrate the value and impact of research supported through public funding. RCUK uses information that researchers provide on the outputs of their Research Council-funded projects to report to, and engage with, both the Government and the public. Users can now search for individual research outcome types on GtR.
  • CSV Download
  • We have carried out a survey to determine what data our users would like to be able to download from GtR.  The most popular choice was research outcomes and it is now possible to download individual research outcomes types using the CSV download functionality.
  • Project Partner values
  • Innovate UK have published their project partner contribution breakdowns on GtR.  It is now possible to see exactly how much the project partner has contributed separate to the Innovate UK contribution.
