Gerard Connell

Gerard Connell comes to Land Registry with over 30 years executive experience in strategic, financial and operational roles in industry and the City.

Gerard’s current non-executive roles include:

Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Pennon, one of the largest groups in the FTSE-250.
Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit at the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory, a trading fund of the Ministry of Defence.
Director of Finance and Investment Strategy at the Nuclear Decommissioning Fund Company Limited, a body set up to monitor nuclear decommissioning liabilities.
Governor at King’s College School Wimbledon.

Gerard’s executive roles in industry included 10 years as Group Finance Director of Wincanton, a support services group, and 5 years as Corporate Development Director of Unigate, the food manufacturing group. During his time in the City he was a Managing Director of Bankers Trust Company and a Regional Director of Hill Samuel Bank.

Gerard trained as a Chartered Accountant and also holds a first class honours degree in Modern Languages.

Gerard is married with three grown-up children and his interests outside work include music, theatre and sport.
