Appointment of a High Court Judge - Cobb QC

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Stephen William Scott Cobb, Esq., Q.C., to be a Justice of the High Court with effect from 11 January 2013 on the retirement of Mr. Justice Hedley.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Mr. Cobb to the Family Division.

Notes for Editors

Mr. Cobb, 50, was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1985 and took Silk in 2003. He was appointed a Recorder in 2004 and is approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Mr. Justice Hedley was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1969. He was appointed a Recorder in 1988, a Circuit Judge in 1992 and a judge of the Family Division of the High Court in 2002.
