Appointment of a Circuit Judge: Katz

The Queen has appointed Philip Alec Jackson Katz QC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP.

The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Woolwich Crown Court with effect from 17 March 2014.

Philip Alec Jackson Katz QC, aged 60, will be known as His Honour Judge Katz QC. He was called to the Bar (M) in 1976 and took Silk in 2000. He was appointed as an Assistant Recorder and then as a Recorder, both in 2000.
