Appointment of a Circuit Judge: Hammerton

The Queen has appointed Alastair Rolf Hammerton to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP.

The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Snaresbrook Crown Court with effect from 17 March 2014.

Alastair Rolf Hammerton, aged 53, will be known as His Honour Judge Alastair Hammerton. He was called to the Bar (I) in 1983. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2005.
