Senior Circuit Judge Appointment - Stockdale

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP, has appointed His Honour Judge David Andrew Stockdale QC as Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge for Manchester.

The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, will assign him to the Northern Circuit, based at Manchester Crown Court, with effect from Thursday 17 October 2013.

David Andrew Stockdale QC, 62, will continue to be known as His Honour Judge Stockdale QC. He was called to the Bar (M) in 1975 and took Silk in 1995. He was appointed as an Assistant Recorder in 1991, as a Recorder in 1993 and as a Circuit Judge in 2010. He was authorised to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2008.
