Appointment of President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP, has appointed The Honourable Mr Justice Roth to be President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal with effect from 5 November 2013.

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP, has appointed The Honourable Mr Justice Roth to be President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal with effect from 5 November 2013.

Mr Justice Roth replaces The Honourable Mr Justice Barling who retires as President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal on 4 November 2013.

Sir Peter Marcel Roth, aged 60, was called to the Bar (M) in 1977 and took Silk in 1997. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2000 and as a High Court Judge in 2009.

Mr Justice Barling’s appointment as President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal will end on 4 November 2013. Mr Justice Barling will then return full time to the Chancery Division of the High Court of England and Wales.
