Appointment of a High Court Judge: Davis

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of His Honour Judge William Easthope Davis, Q.C., to be a Justice of the High Court with effect from 1 May 2014 on the retirement of Mr. Justice Silber.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Judge Davis to the Queen’s Bench Division.

Judge Davis, 59, was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1975 and took Silk in 1998. He was appointed a Recorder in 1995, a Circuit Judge in 2008 and is approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Mr. Justice Silber was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1968 and took Silk in 1987. He was appointed a Recorder in 1987 and a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court in 1999.
