His Honour Judge Roger Eric Thorn QC retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 15 April 2014.

His Honour Judge Thorn QC (66) was called to the Bar (M) in 1970 and took Silk in 1990. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1996, a Recorder in 1999, a Deputy High Court Judge in 2000, President of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (Restricted Patients Panel) from 2000 to 2010, and a Circuit Judge in 2004. He was appointed the Designated Civil Judge for Humberside in 2004.
