Appointment of a Circuit Judge: Heathcote Williams

The Queen has appointed Nicholas Michael Heathcote Williams QC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP.

The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Woolwich Crown Court with effect from 6 May 2014.

Nicholas Michael Heathcote Williams QC, aged 59, will be known as His Honour Judge Heathcote Williams QC. He was called to the Bar (I) in 1976 and took Silk in 2006. He was appointed as an Assistant Recorder in 1999, as a Recorder in 2000 and as Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber (Mental Health – Restricted Patients Panel) in 2011.
