Appointment of a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber - Broughton

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP, has appointed Helen Broughton to be a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber, to exercise the Social Security and Child Support jurisdiction within that Chamber, based at Liverpool.

She will take up post with effect from Tuesday 6 May 2014.

Notes to editors

Helen Broughton, aged 56, will be known as Tribunal Judge Broughton. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1981. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Chairman of the Child Support Appeal Tribunals in 1993, becoming a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support), in 2008.
