Appointment of a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber: Plimmer

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP, has appointed Melanie Ann Plimmer to be a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, to exercise the Special Educational Needs and Disability, Care Standards and Primary Health jurisdiction within that Chamber, based at Manchester.

She will take up post with effect from 12 May 2014.

Notes to editors

Melanie Ann Plimmer, aged 41, will be known as Tribunal Judge Plimmer. She was called to the Bar (G) in 1996. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Immigration Judge in 2006 (becoming Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Asylum and Immigration Chamber in 2010) and as a Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge of the Immigration and Asylum Tribunal, also in 2010.
