Research Councils UK (RCUK) is pleased to announce that Professor Ian Diamond, chief executive of the Economic and Social Research Council, has been elected by his fellow Research Council chief executives to continue as chair of the RCUK Executive Group for a further year.
Working alongside the other chief executives, he will continue to drive and monitor the strategic and operational activities that deliver the RCUK mission
Professor Diamond said, "The New Year brings with it some stimulating challenges. These include launching major multidisciplinary research programmes that tackle major societal challenges; extending our international operations; and enhancing our links with research users and the Technology Strategy Board. I am delighted to continue in this role and look forward to working with the other Research Council chief executives in making this another productive year for RCUK."
