Circuit Judge Appointment - Dean

The Queen has appointed Nicholas Arthur Dean QC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Chris Grayling MP.

The Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, will assign him to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Crown Court. He will take up appointment with effect from 25 November 2013 and will be temporarily deployed to the Northern Circuit, based at Chester Crown Court, before he takes up his permanent duties on the Midland Circuit early in the new year.

Nicholas Arthur Dean, aged 53, will be known as His Honour Judge Dean QC. He was called to the Bar (L) in 1982 and took Silk in 2003. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2002.
