Tribunal Judge Retirement - Searby

District Tribunal Judge Derek Searby TD retires with effect from 19 October 2013.

Tribunal Judge Searby (70) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1967. He was appointed as part-time Chairman of the National Insurance Tribunals in 1979, Chairman of Supplementary Benefit Appeal Tribunals in 1983, Acting Provincial Stipendiary Magistrate in 1989 and part-time Chairman of the Disability Appeals Tribunal in 1992. He was appointed Chairman of the Social Security Appeal Tribunals in 1999 (now known as Judge of the First Tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber)) and Tribunal Member of the Judges Council from 2009 to 2012.
