Jillian Kay will take up the post of Chief Executive of the Judicial Office on Monday 11 February.
Lord Judge, the Lord Chief Justice, said: “The Senior President of Tribunals Sir Jeremy Sullivan and I welcome Jillian to the Judicial Office and we look forward to working with her. I am sure her enthusiasm and her experience in the justice system and across Whitehall will be of enormous benefit to us all.”
The Judicial Office supports the Lord Chief Justice and the Senior President of Tribunals in their statutory roles as heads of the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary.
The new chief executive has held a range of policy, strategy and corporate roles in justice and constitutional affairs including posts in the private offices of two former Lord Chancellors, Deputy Head of the Scotland Office, and senior posts in Sentencing Reform and Access to Justice at the Ministry of Justice.
She is joining the Judicial Office following a secondment to the Cabinet Office's Economic and Domestic Secretariat.
Jillian Kay replaces Anne Sharp who has been chief executive of the Judicial Office since May 2009, and is leaving to become chief executive of the Arbitration, Conciliation and Advisory Service (Acas).
