"There is considerable public debate at the present time about the conduct of the press and in particular about the conduct of investigative journalism. The press is said to behave badly. People’s lives can be ruined by the disclosure by the press of matters about their private lives. The purpose of this lecture is to explain the contribution that human rights jurisprudence can make to solving some of these problems.
