John Peaden

As Director of Operations, John is ultimately responsible for the delivery of all operational Key Performance Indicators at Land Registry, as well as other internal targets.

As a member of the Land Registry Board and a Director of the business, John has shared responsibility for leading and managing the business and for supporting the Chief Executive. John is also the Land Registry Board Champion for issues relating to gender.

John is responsible for 14 Local Offices, currently on 17 sites, with line management responsibility for equivalent to just over 4,000 staff, Central Operations Group, Operations Assurance and Register Development Groups.

John joined Land Registry's Durham Office as a Registration Officer, aged 19, in 1977. After several years there he moved to Hull on promotion in 1989 and, over the years, has worked in Tunbridge Wells, Head Office, Stevenage and Harrow, managing at all levels and processing casework up to RE1.

John took up his role on the Land Registry Board in April 2010.
