Appointment of a Family Division Liaison Judge Midlands region

The President of the Family Division, the Right Honourable Sir Mark Potter, has appointed the Honourable Mr Justice McFarlane to take up post as Family Division Liaison Judge for the Midlands Region with effect from 25 April 2006. Mr Justice McFarlane will succeed Mr Justice Kirkwood.

Mr Justice (Sir Andrew) McFarlane, 51, was called to the Bar, Grays Inn, in 1977 and took Silk in 1998. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1995 and became a Recorder in 1999. He has been a Justice of the High Court, assigned to the Family Division, since April 2005.
