Appointment of a Queen’s Bench Liaison Judge for the North and North-Eastern Circuits

The Honourable Mr Justice Supperstone has been appointed as Queen’s Bench Liaison Judge with special responsibility for the Administrative Court out of London for the North and North-Eastern Circuits. This appointment will take effect on 1 January 2013, when Mr Justice Hickinbottom will move to take responsibility for the Administrative Court on the Wales and Midland circuits to replace Mr Justice Beatson.

Mr Justice Supperstone will hear cases at centres on the North and North-Eastern circuits and will work closely with Presiding Judges, the judiciary and the circuit administration to carry forward the work of the court.

The Honourable Mr Justice Supperstone was called to the Bar in 1973. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (QC) in 1991 and became a Recorder in 1996. He was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge in 1998 and has been a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, since 2010.
