High Court Judge Appointment: Lucy Morgan Theis

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Lucy Morgan Theis, Q.C., to be a Justice of the High Court with effect from 15 November 2010 on the retirement of Mr. Justice Singer on 8 November.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Ms. Theis to the Family Division.

Notes to editors

Ms. Theis, 49, was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1982 and took Silk in 2003. She was appointed a Recorder in 2000 and is approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Mr. Justice Singer was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1967 and took Silk in 1987. He was appointed a Recorder in 1987 and a judge of the Family Division of the High Court in 1993.
