  • RCUK announces new Open Access policy
    Research Councils UK (RCUK) has today, 16th July 2012, unveiled its new Open Access policy. Informed by the work of the National Working Group on Expanding Access to Published Research Findings, chaired by Professor Dame Janet Finch, the policy at once harmonises and makes significant changes to existing Research Councils’ Open Access policies.

  • Research Councils Internal Audit Service and RCUK Assurance merge
    On 2 April 2012 the Research Councils Internal Audit Service (RCIAS) merged with RCUK Assurance to create a single audit and assurance body. The new merged organisation is called Audit and Assurance Services Group (AASG) which reflects its new combined assurance role and the variety of customers it now serves.

  • Chancellor announces two new UK-China research partnerships
    During a visit to China, the Chancellor George Osborne today (17 January) announced two new UK Research Councils partnerships with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Joint funding with the Research Councils UK Energy Programme, led by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for research projects into smart energy grids and with the Medical Research Council (MRC) to help the development of collaborative links between stem cell scientists in the UK and China.
