Speech by Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, Master of the Rolls

10/05/2010

Speech by the Master of the Rolls, Lord Neuberger, during which he reminds us of the privileges enjoyed by previous holders of the office and the unlucky fate of some of his predecessors including Sir Thomas Cromwell, the only Master of the Rolls to have been executed "so far".

The title refers to the privileges enjoyed by previous holders of the office. Lord Neuberger explains what it is like to be the Master of the Rolls today and outlines the need to find the right balance between his three distinct roles; judicial, administrative and policy.
