Appointment of Chamber President of the Upper Tribunal

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Kenneth Clarke QC MP, has appointed The Honourable Mr Justice Charles to be a President of the Upper Tribunal (to preside over the Administrative Appeals Chamber) with effect from 4 April 2012.

The Honourable Mr Justice (Sir [Arthur] William [Hessin]) Charles is 63, was called to the Bar (L) in 1971. He was appointed as a High Court Judge of the Family Division on 12 January 1998.
