High Court Judge Appointment: Henry Bernard Eder

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Henry Bernard Eder, Esq., Q.C., to be a Justice of the High Court with effect from 11 January 2011 on the retirement of Mr. Justice Jack.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Mr. Eder to the Queen’s Bench Division.

Notes to editors

Mr. Eder, 58, was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1975 and took Silk in 1990. He was appointed a Recorder in 2000 and is approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.

Mr. Justice Jack was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1966 and took Silk in 1982. He was appointed a Recorder in 1989, a Circuit Judge in 1991, Judge of the Bristol Mercantile Court in 1994 and a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court in 2001.
