AHRB becomes a Research Council

From 1 April 2005, the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) will be replaced by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). The decision to create an AHRC underlines the importance of high-quality research in the arts and humanities for the cultural, creative and economic life of the nation. As with the other research councils, the AHRC is located within the Office of Science and Technology and operates on a UK-wide basis.
