Proposal Writing for the Last FP6 Marie Curie Fellowship Deadlines


The UK Research Office - in its capacity as UK National Contact Point for the Marie Curie Actions - and in partnership with the Universities of Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff, Strathclyde and Reading - is holding proposal writing sessions for UK-based applicants for Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships, Incoming International Fellowships, Outgoing International Fellowships, Excellence Teams, Excellence Chairs and Transfer of Knowledge actions.

Aim of each proposal writing session

The aim of each session is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the proposal format and the key issues they are required to address in planning and writing their proposal.

Who should attend?

The proposal writing sessions will be of particular interest to UK-based researchers who are interested in and/or are planning to submit a proposal for one of the forthcoming deadlines: Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships, Incoming International Fellowships, Outgoing International Fellowships, Excellence Teams, Excellence Chairs and Transfer of Knowledge.

Attendance is free thanks to support from the hosting universities and UK Research Office.

Programme outline

Each session will provide an outline of the application form and in-depth guidance on planning and writing your Marie Curie proposals. The session will be based on feedback from evaluators and endeavour to respond to specific areas of interest identified by participants in the on-line registration form.

Which session should I attend?

If you are interested in the Marie Curie Intra-European, Incoming International, Outgoing International, Excellence Teams, Excellence Chairs, you are invited to attend one of the proposal writing sessions held at the following venues (note it is only necessary to attend one session, either the morning or afternoon, whichever is most convenient):

  • The Manchester University, 9 November 2005 morning or afternoon session;
  • University of Newcastle upon Tyne, 21 November 2005 morning or afternoon session;
  • Cardiff University, 23 November 2005 morning session;
  • University of Strathclyde, 25 November 2005 morning session;
  • The University of Reading, 28 November 2005 morning or afternoon.

If you are interested in the Transfer of Knowledge Actions you are invited to attend one of the following proposal writing sessions:

  • Cardiff University, 23 November 2005 afternoon session;
  • University of Strathclyde, 25 November 2005 afternoon session.
