Judicial College
On the 1 April 2011 the functions of the Judicial Studies Board (JSB) transferred to the Judicial College. However, many publications issued by the JSB continue to be directly relevant to the work of the judiciary.
There is a range of key publications outlining the vision for judicial training, its delivery as well as key reference material.
Anti-social behaviour orders - ASBOsAnti-social behaviour orders (“ASBOs”) were introduced by section 1 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 which came into force on 1st April 1999. The JSB has published guidance on the making and enforcement of these orders.
Courts Judiciary Prospectus of Education April 2011- March 2012The prospectus offers a range of seminars which are open to the courts judiciary for the period April 2011 to March 2012. High Court Judges, Circuit and District Judges and a proportion of fee paid judges are able to choose which seminar they wish to attend.
Courts Judiciary Prospectus of Education April 2010- March 2011This prospectus details the seminars from which the judiciary can chose to attend during the period April 2010 to March 2011. These seminars are open to all High Court, Circuit and District Judges. A proportion of Recorders and Deputy District Judges are required to choose a seminar each year.

Framework of judicial abilities and qualitiesIn 2008 the JSB approved a single consolidated Framework of Judicial Abilities and Qualities for the High Court and the Circuit and District Benches to replace the previous framework which was for the Circuit and District Benches only.
JSB annual reportsThese annual reports cover the training delivered by the JSB. Each also includes a summary of JSB expenditure.
JSB guidance frameworksIn 1997, the Tribunals Committee commissioned the University of Birmingham to carry out a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) of chairmen and members in tribunals. In response to the conclusions in 1999, the Lord Chancellor invited the Board to develop the proposals further.
Tribunals JournalSince 1994, the JSB has produced the Tribunals journal, published three times a year, which engages experts in the administrative justice field to produce articles on a diverse range of tribunal-related issues, principally on the skills required in managing a hearing but also including developments in appraisal and mentoring, and international viewpoints and advances in training technology.
