Appointment of Chancery Supervising Judge

The Honourable Mr Justice Lewison has been appointed as the Chancery Supervising judge for the Midland, Western and Wales and Chester circuits.

The appointment takes effect on 1st January 2007 when The Hon Mr Justice Hart will relinquish his appointment at the end of his term of office.

The Hon. Mr Justice Lewison was born on May 1 1952 and educated at St. Paul’s School, London and Downing College, Cambridge. He was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1975 and made a Queen’s Counsel in 1991. He was an Assistant Recorder between 1991 and 1997 and a Recorder between 1997 and 2003. He was also a Deputy High Court Judge between 2000 and 2003.
