Senior President of Tribunals responds to advisory panel on judicial diversity report

The independent Advisory Panel on Judicial Diversity, chaired by Baroness Neuberger, has published a report on judicial diversity today.

Commenting on the report the Senior President of Tribunals, Lord Justice Carnwath said:

“I welcome the Report of the Advisory Panel on Judicial Diversity and echo the views of the Lord Chief Justice. I look forward in particular to exploring the concept of a judicial career that spans both courts and tribunals in a unified judiciary. The flexibility offered by the new tribunal system makes tribunals an attractive entry point to a judicial career which many tribunal judges already combine successfully with caring and other professional commitments.”
