Lady Justice Arden began:
“I should like to start by saying that in my view human rights have made an important contribution to civil society in the United Kingdom.”
She spoke of the importance of the Strasbourg court to the interpretation of human rights legislation, but also the ways in which it could improve - offering a “toolkit” of suggestions.
