To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Better Public Building Award, a photography exhibition hosted by CABE (Commission for Architecture & the Built Environment) during Architecture Week showcases some of Britain's best public buildings, spaces and even roads.

Shot by fashion photographer, Michele Turriani, Public & Prized invites the general public to take a photo-tour around a selection of the projects recognised during five years of the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award.

The exhibition is not just about architecture. The award is the only design accolade that looks at the usability and functionality of a building. Reflecting this, Michele Turriani’s work illustrates that public buildings and spaces are for the public. The photographs focus on the people that use our libraries, schools, hospitals, art galleries and museums everyday. Visit the exhibition, as it could be you in the picture.

The exhibition opens at a central London gallery (17 June 2005) after which it is due to tour around the UK.
