How to use your online account


Login to your account

Click on the login link on this page to access your account. You will be asked to provide your:

  • Customer Reference Number (formerly known as ART ID)
  • Internet Password
  • Secret Answer

You will already have these details if you applied for a student loan through:

  • Student Finance England
  • Student Finance Direct
  • Student Finance Wales
  • Student Finance Northern Ireland

If you applied online or have used any of our online services – such as viewing your student loan payment dates – you will have already set these to something personal and easy to remember.

Lost or forgotten your login details?

You can use our online service to Find out your login details including your password, secret answer and Customer Reference Number.

Is your account locked?

If you are receiving a message that your account is locked, you can unlock it yourself by choosing the option 'Reset your password or secret answer' using our service to Find out your login details

Never received login details?

If you have never been sent an Internet Password or Secret Answer you will need to contact our Customer Support Centre to have them sent to you:

Your browser

For your security and so that you can continue to use our online repayment service, we recommend that you use the latest version of your browser. If you’re using an older version of your browser which isn’t supported, you may not be able to use the full online service. For example, you may not be able to make card repayments online. You can access the latest version of your browser here:
