How to use your online account

Log into your account

When you log into your account, you will be asked to provide your:

  • Customer Reference Number (formerly known as ART ID)
  • Password
  • Secret answer

You will already have these details if you applied for student finance through:

  • Student Finance England
  • Student Finance Direct
  • Student Finance Wales
  • Student Finance Northern Ireland

And, if you applied online or used any of our online services – such as viewing student loan payment dates – you will have already set these to something personal and easy to remember.

Lost or forgotten your login details?

You can use our online service to reset your password and secret answer or find out your Customer Reference Number. If your account is locked, you can reset your password and secret answer to unlock it.

Never received login details?

If you have never been sent a password or secret answer you will need to contact our Customer Support Centre to have them sent to you.
