Annual Report of Incidents

For a number of years, the Food Standards Agency has published an Annual Report of Incidents, typically each June. This release indicates how many food incidents the FSA handled in a given year, and what action was taken to protect consumers.

The FSA has decided to cease the production of the numbers of food incidents, due to light demand for the statistics and difficulties in ensuring consistent categorisation.  Instead, the underlying data will be provided as open data on a monthly basis. This allows for greater filtering than is possible in a statistical report.  We believe more timely and regular disaggregated data will meet existing user demands better. 

The incidents notified to the FSA in 2017/18 will be published as open data on in the first quarter of 2018/19.
