Background to the collection

This CQUIN return covers indicators 2a and 2b. Each indicator has two parts, (i) and (ii).

2a(i) and 2a(ii) are relevant to providers that accept adult and child patients via the Emergency Department (ED) or by direct emergency admission to any other unit (e.g. Medical Assessment Unit) or acute ward arriving in the hospital.

2b(i) and 2b(ii) are relevant to providers with adult and child patients who are acute hospital inpatients.

Providers will submit data via the Strategic Data Collection System (SDCS) portal. Once logged in to SDCS providers can submit data via the downloadable excel template.

The data collection is quarterly; the template clearly sets out what information is required in each submission period.

Please note that parts 2c and 2d are collected by PHE.
