The Independent Group Advising on the Release of Data (IGARD) considers all requests for dissemination of confidential information, as defined in Section 263 of the Health & Social Care Act, through the Data Access Request Service (DARS). We aim to improve transparency, accountability, quality and consistency through robust, independent scrutiny of NHS Digital data distributions, as well as providing a voice for stakeholders and the public.
The health secretary and other parts of the health service can ask NHS Digital to collect information on specific topics so that they can improve patient care.
Our products and services are leading to major changes in the way nurses deliver care at the bedside and in the community. Find out more about what we're doing and how it benefits both nurses and patients.
