Since becoming a Responsibility Deal partner in 2012, Cricketer Farm has shown their commitment to support and enable their customers to consume a healthier diet.
As signatories to the salt and saturated fat reduction pledges, they launched their award winning ‘Eatwell Half Fat Reduced Salt Cheese’ for the food service sector. They now supply to Compass, who in turn has managed to save 27m calories, over 2000kg saturated fat, and 89kg of salt in the first 6 months of its launch. Cricketer Farm has also introduced ‘Cheeky Cow’ a half fat, reduced salt brand to the retail market, which sold out from Lidl in January this year. Both these products meet the 2017 salt targets.
David Tester, Marketing Manager for Insight and Innovation at Compass Group said:
“Following the successful swap and roll out in the defence sector we are now working on how we can launch Eatwell Cheese across other sectors in Compass UK & Ireland. Health and Wellbeing is a big priority for us and allows us to deliver great tasting, healthy meals to our consumers”.
Greg Parsons MD Cricketer Farm said:
“Cricketer Farm is committed to supporting the Responsibility Deal and has underscored this with our dual approach to the retail and catering sectors where we continue to develop and innovate with our launches of half fat and reduced salt cheese. We see our collaborative work with Compass Group as ground breaking and a case study for other SME and Corporate businesses to work closer together to further increase the nation’s health through healthier balanced choice”.
We welcome their continued support as a valued Responsibility Deal partner, and their ongoing efforts to improve the nation’s diet.
