Designated firms list

A PRA-designated investment firm is a firm which, broadly speaking:

  • has, or has applied for, permission to deal in investments as principal;
  • and has, or would have if it were authorised, a minimum capital of EUR730,000, or is a broadly analogous to a European Economic Area (EEA) passporting firm or non-EEA firm; and
  • qualifies under the PRA’s designation criteria as set out in the Designation of investment firms Policy Statement.
Firms which appear on this list do not hold deposit-taking permissions. Deposit-takers with similar business models to the firms appearing on this list appear in the list of banks published by the Bank of England. Investment firms which do not appear on this list are regulated by the FCA.
