The table below sets out the expenditure for the inquiry up to and including 31 March 2016. Only expenditure authorised through, or on behalf of, the inquiry secretariat is included in these figures. The inquiry provides funding for the solicitors and counsel to the inquiry and in addition only funds representation for core participants and witnesses if the Chairman makes such an award in accordance with the provisions of section 40 of the Inquiries Act 2005. The Home Office and other organisations may also have other costs which are met internally and are not included within the inquiry’s expenditure figures.
