Three new investigations were announced on 26 February 2015 in relation to the following hospitals:

  • Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital, Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
  • Moss Side and Ashworth Hospitals, Merseycare Trust

Savile investigations assurance and oversight reports

Kate Lampard, a former practising barrister and former Deputy Chair of the Financial Ombudsman Service, was appointed by the Secretary of State in October 2012 to provide independent oversight of the 28 reports published in June 2014 and the four published in February 2015. The NHS Savile Legacy Unit provided independent oversight of the other reports.

Lessons learned

Kate Lampard has also written a lessons learned report on the findings from all published investigations and emerging themes. The report includes 14 recommendations for the NHS, the Department of Health and wider government.
