Well-being: international work

The UK is not the only country to develop measures of well-being. Over the last decade, there has been growing interest among other National Statistics Institutes and international organisations, such as Eurostat and the OECD, in developing measures to better reflect well-being and the social, economic and environmental progress of countries.

It is important that we engage with the international well-being agenda in order to develop a shared framework for defining and measuring well-being, harmonise data collection to allow comparison across countries and share best practice.
