The draft Care and Support Bill was published on 11 July 2012. It proposes a single, modern law for adult care and support that replaces existing outdated and complex legislation.

The draft Bill was published here for online consultation, so that you could comment on the individual clauses, and contribute to the largest overhaul of the law around adult care and support in 60 years. We received many constructive comments and have seen some interesting discussions here.

The consultation is now closed and all comments have been analysed by the draft Care and Support Bill team but you can still read what people have said.
