This guidance explains how to use sobriety conditions to deal with low-level crime. It is based on experiences with the sobriety pilot scheme.

Provides guidance on the concept of conditional cautions with sobriety conditions, those eligible for this type of disposal, the conditions, failure and non-compliance and the lessons learned.

The annexes provide a summary of the findings of the pilot scheme, sample conditions, sample wordings for requesting a second breath test and a process flowchart for issuing a conditional caution.
