In this video, Frances Patterson makes the following points:
- I am delighted to see that in the white paper, the government has embraced the recommendations of the Law Commission
- In particular of note are the provisions proposed in the draft Care and Support Bill in relation to carers which we believe will significantly improve the position in relation to them.
- And the provision for portability, so that when a service user moves from one part of the country to another they will know that they will receive their care package until they are reassessed.
- The Law Commission is extremely pleased with what the government has done by way of response, and the content of the draft Bill.
