Standards of proficiency consultations closing on 2 April 2013

20/03/2013 - 12:00

We are currently consulting on proposed changes to profession-specific standards of proficiency for chiropodists and podiatrists and prosthetists and orthotists. These consultations close on Tuesday 2 April 2013.

The consultations are part of a review of the standards of proficiency for 15 of the professions we regulate. The standards of proficiency contain generic standards that apply to all registrants, and profession-specific standards that set out the different requirements for specific professions. We have already revised and restructured the generic standards. Under the new structure, most of the standards of proficiency will be profession-specific, listed under 15 new generic standards.

The review is an opportunity to make sure the standards of proficiency are relevant to each profession. No standards will be lost, but the language used may change to ensure the standards are appropriate and applicable to individual professions.

We would welcome your response to any of these consultations, responses must be received by 2 April.

You can respond to our easy to use online surveys, and read more about the consultations here.
